To Come
Once upon a time,
Time wasn't,
Which left a crater in echoless space,
That void not yet occupied
By planet Earth,
Where life's defining epiphany
Would not reveal its divine design,
For untold soulless eons.
And in that clockless cosmic abyss,
When humanity knew not
Of its future purpose,
The hour of its terrestrial birth,
An inchoate voice spoke,
Sparking a universal illumination
That would part the darkness,
Once upon a time to come.
