So that at the end of the long day's trail through the vale of tears, We're left with animosities, antagonisms, antipathies, Leading to man's messianic proselytization of hatred, fear, violence —
Hatred based on suspicion of others, their differences; Fear that they'll grow, in numbers, and take control, Impose their own abhorrent forms of unmitigated vengeance;
Violence justified by the inerrantist teachings of religious beliefs That preach unilateral dictates for devotion to causes Excluding all those hewing to different persuasions...
