Anonymity

I've survived to a robust old age

Because it's allowed me to compose primal, seminal poems

People have quoted, recited, for endless generations,

Poetry pronouncedly unsigned by me,

Works by David, Homer, Dante, Shakespeare, Milton,

Which I ghostwrote, without the slightest desire for glory,

Harnessing every molecular surge of my creational urge,

To uplift hearts, bolster souls, with my renowned anonymity,

Believing that my Word should be made words.
