Cicada-Breeze Evening
This evening's warm, seductive breezes,
Conducting an intermittent chorus of cicadas,
In the pear trees lining this restaurant's patio,
Invite me to dine, by myself,
In the presence of inspired, unrhymed, primal harmonies.
Joyously, I surrender to a spell of mystical listening.
I've always been drawn to nature's music,
Getting intimate with the setting sun
Subliming into time's reservoir of silence.
Tonight, the choiring cicadas make love to my blood.
