Till Death Do Us Part
All of us,
For better or for worse,
In sickness and in health,
To have and to hold,
For richer or for poorer,
To love and to cherish,
Till death do us part,
Are busybodies, dillydallies,
Willy-nillies, dizzy Lizzies,
Fuddy-duddies, silly Millies,
Sticks-in-the-mud, know-it-alls.
We can't help who, what, why
We are or are not.
It's in our genes,
H. sapiens’s DNA.
It can't be any other way,
Any way other,
Not, at least,
Till death do us part,
Since hubris and stupidity
Are humanity's birthmarks.
Only then do we marry for life.
