It's All About

It's all about schooling ourselves in the fundamentals,

Tempering art's skills, in the fires of practice, discipline, passion,

To speak a language, distinct from our mother tongue,

Capable of saying, with brazen courage,

Everything unavailable in the sun's blazing lexicon,

Those notions even imagination can't know

Until the moment when coalescing cosmoses disclose themselves.

It's all about grazing on Shakespearian chutzpah-grass,

To grow the histrionic cojones

Necessary to let us express our most repressed inhibitions,

Get to the depths of our intellects' ineluctable dialects,

Unloose our demons, give them the freedom to do Phoenix tricks,

Transmute their dehumanized spirits into beautiful muses

Who will speak for us, with the tongues of young saviors.

It's all about summoning up what's humble within us,

Regardless of our hearts' narcissism,

Believing that art, alone,

Can inspire us to study war no more, trust each other

When we write, sculpt, compose, dance, paint, act,

Make something sublime, for the first time,

That changes the way man interprets his relationship with nature.

It's all about being all about being,

Never doubting our craving to accomplish grandiose impossibilities,

Just because not doing so would be to preclude our souls

From coming as close as they'll ever get to apotheosis,

Keep us from experiencing, vicariously, original creation,

The glories of primordiality,

What exists before beginning informs being, with becoming.
