Cinderella

Then, one interminably crystallizing night of broken glass,

You realized that, over your fairy-tale-happy-ending life,

Time had ripped you a spanking-brand-new asshole,

Done a "Deutschland über alles" number, on your soul,

Without your assimilated brain ever assimilating the truth

That the ground zero below the dreams bolstering your hopes

Had crumbled under the weight of your fast-imploding delusion.

When you awakened, at the knell of your Cinderella-ball bell,

In your Schwarzwald Eagle's Nest castle, on nightmare's Rhine,

To find her princess's gown dissolving in tatters,

Her three glass slippers shattering into clattering facets,

Her Spiegelman mice leaving your sinking regal pumpkin-coach ship,

You decided that your once-upon-a-time existence

Wasn't worth a good fat-ass-rat's shit in a gefilte-fish-crowded sea.

And in that manic moment of panic-attack-stricken revelation,

You did what any Be Well Prepared Boy "Hitler Youth" Scout,

In a terminal split-tongue, devil-may-care second, would have done:

You transported yourself to the Giftgas spa, in Farben-Baden,

The Topf & Bottom self-cleaning convection ovens, in Mauschwitz,

Where your bones would be hung to dry, on the horizon's clothesline,

And Cinderella might gather your ashes, in her trash basket.
