Endings
Endings are immensely providential
When they don't portend the commencement
Of one more torment
Or send out a mention
Of their intention to defend our enemies,
Let them contend against us.
Endings are generally unbeneficial
When their monumental consequences
Depend on our suspending disbelief
To such a dimensionless extent
That we pretend innocence is sapience
And death the incipience of life unending.
