Fragrances Purple and White
Sunday, the one that's just slipped into disappearance,
Was all April lilacs and Korean spice viburnums
Lifting into life, from spring's singing lips.
Such singular sweet fragrances,
Dancing yet, in my senses, like pirouetting ballerinas,
Formed a Milky Way of daytime dazzlements
That brought me to the edge of revelation,
A vision of beauty so divinely purple and white,
I decided to devote the rest of my terrestrial days
To wandering in gardens farther away than my tomorrows,
Picking their scented stars, arranging them in bouquets,
To infuse my nose with the cosmos.
