What the Wind Sees

And so it is, that we resume our rendezvous with pleasure,

The destiny you and I seem prophesied to fulfill,

Our time to fly inside the mind behind the wind's eyes,

Explore the warm, breezy reaches of its freedom,

Discover just how euphorically two human beings can soar,

When they ask nothing of each other

(Certainly not possessiveness or passivity)

Except honesty, affection, directness, simplicity, intimacy —

Emotions and virtues nature's lesser creatures know instinctively.

And so it is, having been separated from togetherness's blessings,

For more days than either of us can measure,

In precious expressions of love left unformulated face to face,

Flesh to heart to soul, in a closeness so open,

In those prolonged moments of inviolability,

That we almost lose sight of how privileged we are...

So it is that, once again, we've been given this time,

To see one another as providence does,

Through the mind behind the eyes inside the wind.
