Sleeping and Waking
It feels so good to sleep and awaken
Back at my cozy cabin by the lake,
So revitalizing not only to lie down
In a soundless swoon,
Dragging fatigue into the bedsheets, with me,
But to rouse,
With no clothing clinging to my body,
Ten hours later,
Beside a 6 a.m. mist
Drowsing on the water,
Waiting for me to whisper, "Good morning."
