A.M. Pensées

I

In tying our love knot,

We realize

It's all in the tyming.

II

Do you know

That in all the known world,

For all known time,

Your soul has known my soul

Better than any knowing soul

Has ever known another known soul's soul?

How do I know this little-known truth?

Your knowing soul told me so.

And now you know how I know how you know.

III

I love you

More than any tuna panini

I've ever eaten.

IV

This chilly early-Monday awakening,

A child wandering your new world,

In time's primal unwinding,

I gently sip your warmth,

Suckle, tenderly, love's elixir of life.

Your fresh-scented breasts

Are the true fountains of youth.
