Voice from the Void

I spend another Saturday evening by myself,

Beneath this cavernous restaurant's festooned-ceiling reaches,

Ensconced in a spacious booth capable of seating six.

Amidst the boisterous ambient noise,

Inside the silence of my solitudinous psyche's serenity,

I lose myself to the meditations of my heart,

Commence composing a poem floating in from my soul,

Beckoning me to follow its gentle, mellifluous trajectory,

As if it's been sent to guide me home, from my loneliness,

Beyond its denouement, to share, with me, its closure,

The sublime insight of its inspiring metaphor's creative source,

Revealing how and where my imagination was born,

So that I might better appreciate what it takes

To emulate the voice that speaks, from the void, the ineffable.
