Deepest Yearning
Dance liberates us from gravity's ubiquitous limitations, Frees our earth-beckoned bodies from the stasis of entropy, Exempts our psyches from the empty legacy of forgetfulness, Manumits our spirits from the demons of our least-peaceful angels, Releases our souls, ultimately, from the torpor of rigor mortis.
No other celebration of the flesh's craving for emancipation Expresses, so completely, with imagination's lexicon, The breezes' unbridled fluidity, heat lightning's spontaneity, Or takes the innate shape of God's deepest yearning For His creations to learn the choreography of transcendence.
