A Sky Full of Stars, in Our Eyes
This warm bordering-on-summer Monday midnight,
The far, harkening stars in the measureless beyond are ours.
They're as close to us as the breaths our lungs set free,
With each inspiration imagination expires,
As, side by side, gazing skyward, on this bench at dock's end,
You and I discover Libra, Boötes, Lupus, and Ursa Minor,
Map the Milky Way's argenteous, diamond-dust gossamer
And listen to its harmonious silence
Glistening throughout our spirits' whispering solar system,
Inviting our loving minds to align with the soul of the divine —
We're a new binary star illuminating the universe, with our eyes.
