Seeking

For the past ambivalence-riddled day,

I've weighed the necessity of saying good-bye,

Knowing that I need to make a resolute decision,

Not resist change,

Rather accept that, for my spirit's continued growth,

This trip to Wisconsin should be, has to be, my last,

A catalyst for my becoming someone I'm destined to be.

Having picnicked on the dock, this bittersweet afternoon,

Trekked in the haunts of my first growth's summer camp,

Meandered through its nurturing woods,

And, just now, finished taking a half-hour catnap,

I'm perplexed and saddened by how such happiness

Can coexist with resignation and acceptance.

But water, trees, and seasons must keep seeking, seeking.
