A Blessing
That you and I can repose, wearing only bedclothes,
For two straight hours, some mornings three,
Other days, lose every thread of time,
Not trouble with making dinner reservations
Or even getting up, showering, dressing, eating...
That you and I can be so free,
So engrossed in stroking each other's fleshly togetherness,
Must be a blessing, a blessing,
Like that which descended upon Avram and Sarai —
The fulfillment of our old age,
An ageless love
Born from the consummation of our touching.
